Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association with global headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit professions global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Hong Kong Limited (previously known as The Institute of Internal Auditors Hong Kong Chapter) was formed in 1979 and is affiliated to the global organization, The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. (The IIA Inc.) which is headquartered in the U.S.A. The IIA is a global body with more than 180,000 members worldwide.
